The Colima clay chiminea series is glazed for top quality, durability and a shiny finish. There are five colours in Colima series. All comes with metal stand and clay lid. No assembly required.
Real glazing is a process by which vitrous coloured glass powder is applied to the surface of the chimenea, which is then fired in a high temperature oven to 1100 degrees Celsius. The glazing bonds onto the clay surface.
Glazing makes chimenea more water-resistant by sealing the pores of the clay. So glazing is ideal to keep your chimenea looking the same as when first purchased it and to better protect it from rain and frost.
Glazing may craze when fired repeatadly or left outside for a long time. Crazing are fine lines formations on the surface. Crazing is a natural process that does not affect use although it makes the chimenea less water and frost-resistant.
